Without mating a viper can breed

Oct 21, 11 Without mating a viper can breed

Yes, this is possible; a Pit-Viper can breed, without making any physical contact with their opposite sex. Mainly we know, like bees or some of the fish have the ability to adopt this possibility, they breed without mating. But this time a spinal cord Pit Viper laid 5 eggs at a time in a breeding cage.

Some  scientists believes that without making any sexual contact  a Viper can breed, but till now they don’t have enough information to prove that. So a group of scientist, from North Karolina University, captured a   female Pit-Viper, 5 years ago, and kept it in a cage. No male snake was allowed to enter in this cage. Surprisingly the female Viper lay 4 eggs Out of 4, 2 of them get lucky enough to survive. Scientist examines two of those surviving baby’s and the two lucky babies are genetically same like their mother. No male gene found, as the Scientist expecting. So it is proved that, without making physical contact a Viper can breed. Scientist named this as ‘parthenogenesis’.

This was published in “Linnean socity” a science journal. Scientist clam that, this is the prove that, without a proper partner, the Vipers can breed for his existence.
