Why did two of the brightest officers of Kolkata Police have to give an explanation after a one-hour closed door meeting with chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday?

After this meeting Damayanti Sen and Jawed Shamim went for a press meet at Writers Building.

At Writers, Damayanti Sen credited her whole team for helping her in the investigation process and said that she has been working with this organisation for a long time and it has never happened that she had worked alone. They take a collective decision every time under the commissioner of police. There is a team working with her and even said that Chief Minister did not interrupted in their investigation process . Other things have become important because of media attention and getting hyped. She added that the unfortunate thing is that investigation is getting hampered.  Her investigation is still on, they are yet to arrest more accused.

The trail apparently leads back to Park Street police, who spent more time digging out the inconsistencies in the victim’s statement than investigating the case. Their thoughts and perceptions soon reached the ears of our CM Smt. Mamata Banerjee via commissioner R K Pachnanda and special commissioner Shivaji Ghosh from which she concluded it as a fabricated story.

However, joint commissioner Damayanti Sen and her detective department trusted the victim and made a thorough investigation of the case for truth which ultimately leaded to 14days police custody of the three caught and accused out of the four. When the truth came out in front of all, it proved to be a loss of face for Mamata.

Nusrat – Kadir Relationship pops out in Park street rape incident

The fourth accused Kadir Khan who is yet to be arrested is said to have been linked with a well known actress of Tollywood namely Nusrat Jahan. She  said that Kadir and she was in a relationship.

“If Kadir has raped the woman, he should be punished. If he is guilty, he should be punished. I haven’t spoken to Kadir because his phone is switched off, neither do I know about his whereabouts.” said Nusrat. 

Also said “I am a very confident girl and this incident cannot tarnish my career in any way. Kauke dekhe toh mone hoy na that he can be a rapist” (No one can possibly tell if a man can be a rapist).
