Feb 12, 12
According to the report, it often takes place in air-crafts; that a fully drunk passenger arrives from nowhere, & makes a chaos. But this is the first time, a drunk pilot arrived to drive the plane. The device, named Alco-Sensor, which identifies alcohols, found that the pilot is drunk. Immediately he was replaced by an another pilot. Reports say, this was not the first time he was found drunk. Before this incident the pilot of JET- LIGHT, was found drunk previously, & suspended for 3 months & this time he was suspended for 5 years, for committing the same mistake, yet again!
According to the guide line of civil aviation, the pilot & the air hostess cannot drink alcohol, 12 hours before journey. If anyone, with in this 12 hours consume alcohol; this machine will easily identify that person immediately. This is why, when an air staff comes back from vacation, they have to go through this process. The authority, sometimes check there staff with surprise visiting by this machine. But these days the checking is must. These days, the staffs have to pass this test.
The reports suggests that the air authorities are using Alco-Sensor III, which is not the best. So the Government decides that, the authority should use Alco-Sensor IV. Kolkata airlines is already using this technology.
