Same result for team India. After the  match with Australia everyone was hoping that India would beat Srilanka. But Dhoni’s absence was absolutely clear. Though he was giving tips from the side line, it was not enough for the team. In the end Irfan Pathan tried a lot. But there wasn’t any one to company him.

Sachin was batting terrifically, but unfortunately he went back to the pavilion and other two top order bats man followed him very quickly. This  is not new for us.

Umesh Yadav was unable to find the right line & length and Vinay Kmar was showing interest to follow his team met.  Two main spin bowlers R.Aswin and Ravindra Jadeja bowled well and Irfan Pathan showed every one that he is very much essential for the team.

Virendra Sewag was the captain. But there were some questions about his decision among the supporters. Everyone was missing M.S. Dhoni.

When Srilanka set a target of 290 runs in front of India, Sachin, Sewag and Gambhir’s wicket gave them extra energy. There were Virat Kohli and Raina. They were trying to build a partnership. At that time Maharoof took Raina’s wicket. After that Kohli was trying to build another partnership with Jadeja. Both of them gifted their wickets to the opponents.

It was Irfan Pathan who was looking very much confident against Lanka’s bowlers. He was trying to save the match with R.Aswin. But yesterday was not India’s day. They finished their innings on 238 runs. There was a clear absence of a perfect finisher like Dhoni.

Now India is in third position. They have to win their upcoming two matches, otherwise their summer season will be finished at Australia.
