Shabnim Ismail

Shabnim Ismail

Alongside being one of the fastest female bowlers in the world, Ismail has many incredible records which exemplify her consistent contribution to South African cricket. She made her international debut in early 2007 in an ODI against Pakistan, followed by her T20I debut later that year. Her ascent to becoming South Africa's current leading wicket-taker across all formats, has had many memorable highlights. Her 6-10 against the Netherlands in November 2011 still remains to be the best bowling figures by a South African woman in ODI cricket. In 2015, she was nominated for South African Sportswoman of the Year for her contribution to the game. Ismail also holds an astonishing record of having appeared in every Women's World T20 game for South Africa up until their last match against Bangladesh in the 2018 edition.

Ismail is one of the fastest female bowlers in the world, having clocked 128 kph in 2016.
